St.George OpenAir Cinema unveiled a phenomenal line up of films for its 21st season, at Mrs Macquarie Point from 7 January to 17 February 2017.
The 2017 program will feature a line-up of twenty premiere and preview screenings, opening with the acclaimed LION (Dev Patel, Nicole Kidman), and a selection of 2017 Oscar® contenders including Jackie (Natalie Portman), Manchester by the Sea (Casey Affleck, Michelle Williams), Loving (Joel Edgerton, Ruth Negga), Gold (Matthew McConaughey, Bryce Dallas Howard), Hidden Figures (Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer) and the long-awaited sequel T2 Trainspotting (Ewan McGregor).
In addition, the program will showcase this summer’s most anticipated new releases, including La La Land, Why Him?, A United Kingdom and Passengers. Audiences can look forward to a second opportunity of seeing some of 2016’s best films with Nocturnal Animals, The Beatles: Eight Days a Week – The Touring Years, Arrival, The Founder, Allied, Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Other program highlights include David Stratton’s Stories of Australian Cinema previewing on Australia Day, the remake of the cult classic Kiwi film Pork Pie for Valentine’s Day and a night of awe-inspiring, high-octane short films from the World Tour of the Telluride Mountainfilm Festival.

Each evening, more than a thousand patrons will gather along the harbourside bar and the newly partnered Events by Aria restaurant to enjoy a delicious array of food and wine served against the spectacular Sydney Harbour backdrop. As the sun sets, a massive three-storey-high screen rises from the harbour in front of a 2000 seat grandstand, creating a cinema experience unrivalled anywhere in the world.
Tickets will be on sale from 9am AEDT on Monday December 12 through Ticketmaster, and a limited number of tickets will be available to purchase every evening of the season.
