“A super-slick bout of brooding R&B greatness…in a similar vein to FKA Twigs and Banks” – THE LINE OF BEST FIT
“George Maple can do no wrong… naturally, like everything she produces, it works perfectly.” – WONDERLAND MAGAZINE
“A bold new sonic direction for Maple, as she enters a darker, more evocative zone.” – i-D
George Maple unveiled the Thomaas Banks remix of ‘Lover’. Banks – one half of prolific UK house duo Psychemagik – transforms the luscious original into an afterhours dance-floor triple threat, Maple’s vocal gliding over morphing, pulsating beats.
“Thank you Thomaas Banks for creating this absolute jam. If anyone needs me, I will be sipping my dirty martini watching 80s films in my silk kimono and dancing around my living room.” – George Maple
“For me the original has a real darkness that I loved so I wanted to take that to the next level. I like to really put my own spin on remixes, the aim is to give it an extra lift but still keep the integrity of an original.” – Thomaas Banks
2016 has already been packed with activity for Maple; the original of ‘Lover’ and its accompanying video starring supermodel Jordan Barrett were unveiled to widespread acclaim, DJ Snake re-worked early single ‘Talk Talk’ into the mega summer hit ‘Talk’ and previous single Sticks and Horses with Goldlink hit over 1.5 million Spotify plays and landed in viral charts across the globe.
Alongside this Maple wrapped up her hugely successful solo single tour in Australia, selling out Sydney and setting blogs alight featuring on electronic producer What So Not’s single ‘Buried’ alongside rapper Rome Fortune.
Expect to hear much more in 2017.
