What better way to experience the brilliance of AWO musicians than to hear them in an intimate setting? Join the Australian World Orchestra on the weekend of November 26 & 27 for their Chamber Music Festival in the NSW Southern Highlands. Meet their players and enjoy fine music, fine food and fine company.
With both single and festival tickets available, Artistic Director Christina Leonard has crafted a programme celebrating romance and love with 3 gorgeous concerts.
On Saturday morning, be enraptured by Saint-Saëns’ evocative cello solo The Swan and Mozart’s Kegelstatt Trio in a programme that will make the heart swell. Enjoy a delicious morning tea with the musicians and featured composer, Paul Stanhope.
Indulge in a glass of sparkling and a canapé supper on Saturday evening and be thrilled by Ravel, Cassado and Beethoven’s Archduke Piano Trio. Paul Stanhope will again be on hand to present his work Dolcissimo Uscignolo. Hosted by Fine Music FM.
The weekend’s finale is a late Sunday morning concert followed by a rustic buffet lunch. Those who attended the festival in 2014 will fondly remember the pleasant surrounds of Michael Yabsley’s Womat Hollow and AWO are delighted to return in 2016. Highlights include Respighi, Kodaly, Beethoven and Manuel de Falla’s flamboyant Seven Popular Spanish Songs.
