THE EXCITEMENT LEVEL IS NOW OFFICIALLY THROUGH THE ROOF!

Tonight is the world premiere of Elena Kats-Chernin’s Concerto for 8 double basses and orchestra, The Witching Hour. Tomorrow night we welcome Berlin-based Australian conductor Stanley Dodds for his AWO debut to conduct a stunning programme of Beethoven’s 7th Symphony and Dvorak’s New Word Symphony No. 9 – TICKETS AVAILABLE HERE

The last couple of days have also seen the AWO’s education program in full swing. Children from the Regional Youth Orchestra have come from all over NSW, from places as far away as Albury, Coffs Harbour, Dubbo and Tamworth. They’ve rehearsed and played with AWO musicians living and working overseas in the great orchestras of Vienna, Copenhagen, London, Hong Kong Berlin and more. It’s been a couple of amazing days of education for both the students and the mentors.
