Celebrating their tenth year of service to the Australian community, Kamban Kazhagam Australia Inc. will host a wondrous celebration of Tamil literature, theatricals and oration, all centred around one of Tamil’s most famous and revered literary works. img_5732Kamban Vizha 2016 is a free three day festival that will run from 21-23 October 2016. Each day and night program will showcase a variety of events, from Tamil oratory sessions, performances by the dedicated children form the “Kamban Kids” Class, and a 2 hour non-stop musical opera featuring talented, local Tamil Youth. There are performances, speeches and events for the whole family to enjoy.

Kamban Vizha’s festivities revolve around one of Tamil literature’s greatest works. The Kamba Ramayanam, the literary Epic written by the renowned poet Kamban, has stood the test of time as a transcendent text filled with positive morals and teachings. It is through studying and embracing these ideals that we can learn how to better our lives and the livelihoods of our families. Kamban Kazhagam Australia Inc. was founded for this very purpose, to bring the teachings and lessons of the Kamba Ramayanam to both new and learned audiences in Australia. This not for profit organisation has worked tirelessly over the past ten years to ensure Australians can also experience the wonders of the Kamba Ramayanam.

The “Maaruthi” award, Kamban Kazhagam Australia’s highest honour, will be presented on the evening of Saturday 22rd October, 2016.

Kamban Tamil Literary Week 2016 will conclude with a captivating series of oratory sessions, called “Gnana Velvi”. From 24-26 October 2016, guest speakers and esteemed scholars from across the globe will present a though-provoking series of literary orations during evening sessions that will commence at 7:00pm each evening. Such literary events are rare in Australia, and Kamban Kazhagam Australia Inc. has brought many world-renowned scholars to the heart of Western Sydney to speak for Australian audiences.

All events will be held at the Redgum Function Centre in Wentworthville, Sydney. For more information, please visit https://www.facebook.com/kambankazhagam.australia or our website, http://www.kambankazhagam.org/site/.
