“50 seconds in and BAM. YOU GOT ME.” – Gemma Pike (Triple J)

“…on everyone’s ‘artists to breakout in 2016’ lists, and for good reason.” – Pilerats

‘A total jam.’ – Indie Shuffle

With his recent triple j Unearthed NIMA Competition win and recently wrapping up his first national tour, young breakout producer Curtis Kennedy aka Kuren today surprises fans with his highly anticipated new single, ‘Red Dress’ featuring Canberra native Turquoise Prince LTC as well as his sophomore EP, Tesseract. A worldly affair, with beats conceived in Australia and vocalists sourced from a team in Austria, the five-track EP features up-and-coming talent from the USA and was mastered in Russia. All this from a kid who until two months ago was surrounded by red desert in his home town of Hillston, regional NSW.

A project in the making for 18 months and heavily inspired by the Chris Nolan‘s film ‘Interstellar’, Kuren wanted to redesign the project sonically and visually. Tesseract follows on from Kuren’s acclaimed 2015 debut EP, Love Lost, and features the powerful single ‘Home’ ft. Ben Alessi, which reached #10 in the iTunes electronic charts, high rotation on triple j, and has amassed over 200k Spotify streams. Listen to Kuren’s follow up single, ‘Red Dress’ featuring Canberra native Turquoise Prince LTC.

Tesseract, is testament to Kuren’s trademark ability to innovatively craft dynamic and powerful electronic music. The offering includes collaborations from an all-star cast including multi-talented New York-based Ben Alessi, Turquoise Prince LTC, New Haven and USA’s Fueg. “I have been so lucky to work with some amazing talent in this project. This EP is really about showing people what I can do… I haven’t had much of chance to show people a lot of the diversity in my production. I hope ‘Tesseract’ does just that,” says Kuren.

With his humble beginnings pitted as one of the ‘5 New Indigenous Artists You Need to Hear’ by triple j Unearthed in 2015, Kuren has been making 2016 his own, supporting the likes of powerhouse Ngaiire, remixing American songwriter BANKS, given the nod of approval by Ta-Ku and signing with iconic booking agency Maker.
