Not Quite a Man About Town But Trying
Charlie Brown and Pizza
6th July 2016
So tonight was ‘You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown’ at the Hayes Theatre in Potts Point. Time for a bite to eat beforehand. I decided to start a tour of the little eat street Springfield Avenue and first stop was Mad Pizza Pronto right on the corner of Springfield Avenue and Darlinghurst Road
What a great little spot. Only a couple of tables and a few stools at the bar. $6 wines and some great $20 pizza’s. I settled in for a Havianna pizza (double smoked ham, caramelised pineapple, fior de latte cheese, basil, bocconcini) and a glass or two of shiraz.
Great service, great vibe and some crayons and brown paper tablecloths to go crazy on. A perfect pre-show dinner option.
As for the show: what a fun night. Brought back memories of my snoopy cartoons and childhood insecurities – sounds like a perfect night. If you want a second opinion keep an eye out on www.talkingarts.com.au and theatrenow.com.au for Alana’s review which will be up soon.
Fun fact I learned tonight:
Fior Di Latte is semi-soft, fresh cheese made in the style of Italian mozzarella. Fior di Latte means “milk’s flower”, and is used to refer to cow’s milk rather than buffalo milk Mozzarella. Described as smooth, extremely fresh, a little tangy in flavour. An elastically textured cheese.
And from the show..
“In some parts of the world tomorrow is already today, and today is yesterday. If tomorrow is already today Charlie Brown, there’s no way that tomorrow could be a better day.”
