With his acclaimed debut Triple J Feature album, reaching #1 in the iTunes electronic chart and the news his first ever Australian headline shows this August have sold-out, UK electronic producer and Grammy award winner Tourist has released the video for new single ‘Too Late.’ The James Lewis-directed and Jake Robinson art directed visual translation gives audiences a taste of what to expect from his Sydney and Melbourne shows this August.
The track comes off the back of his BBC Radio 1 playlisted and Hype Machine #1 ‘Run which reached the #8 position as most played track on Triple J and recently received a remix by Lil Silva, who extended the raw emotion of the single, adding disembodied vocals and undulating synths into the mix. The latest video follows ‘Run’, directed by rising talent Ozzie Pullin and ‘To Have You Back directed by Davy Evans (credits include The XX and Zomby) and Jason Drew (Thom Yorke/Modeselektor) who’s manipulated CGI still life and digital colour palettes was the perfect visual accompaniment.
Written over the course of several years U takes the listener through the beginnings of a relationship to the parting of ways. The 10-track offering sees Tourist take a more stripped back approach, following previous singles and EPs that saw features from vocalists including Lianne La Havas, Will Heard and Olly Alexander (Years & Years.) and 2015’s ‘Holding On (ft. Josef Salvat & Niia) which clocked over 1.6 million SoundCloud streams.
Picking up a Grammy last year for his co-writer role on Sam Smith’s ‘Stay With Me’, the classically trained instrumentalist and producer has released three EP’s TonightPatterns and self-titled Tourist. With an incendiary set at London’s Field Day already under his belt, Tourist is set to embark on a festival tour of Europe and the U.S, including PitchPanorama and Bestival, before heading out on just announced UK and North American live headline dates. Having appeared at festivals  Lost Paradise and Beyond The Valley in 2014, Australian fans who were lucky enough to snap up tickets, will be treated to this exquisite album performed live.
